Ep 12. Downhill Slide

In the episode "Downhill Slide" of Highway Thru Hell season 3, the crew is faced with multiple challenges on the Coquihalla Highway. The highway is infamous for its treacherous conditions and steep grades, but a combination of heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures make this job even more difficult than usual.

First, Jamie Davis and his team must respond to an overturned logging truck. The truck is blocking both lanes of traffic and the logs have spilled all over the road. Mike, the new addition to the crew, is tasked with using a chainsaw to cut up the logs and clear a path for traffic to pass.

Meanwhile, Colin is called to an accident scene involving a semi-truck and a car. The car is completely smashed and the driver is severely injured. Colin works quickly to cut the driver out of the car and get him to a waiting ambulance.

As if these two accidents weren't enough, the crew is then called to a third incident: a semi-truck that has jackknifed and is now blocking the highway. The driver is stranded and needs to be rescued before the crew can even begin the process of clearing the highway.

Throughout all of these challenges, the crew of Highway Thru Hell remains professional and focused. They work quickly and efficiently to keep the highway clear and safe for other drivers. But as the day wears on and the temperatures continue to drop, their equipment begins to freeze up and their bodies start to tire.

In one particularly tense moment, Jamie and Mike are attempting to tow a truck up a steep hill when suddenly the ropes attaching the two vehicles snap. The truck rolls backwards, narrowly avoiding tipping over and causing even more damage. But despite this setback, the crew continues to persevere. They know that their work is important and that people's lives depend on them.

As the episode comes to a close, the crew is finally able to clear the highway and get traffic moving again. Jamie takes a moment to reflect on the difficulties of the day, but also on the satisfaction that comes from a job well done. Even though they faced some of the toughest challenges yet, the crew of Highway Thru Hell rose to the occasion and proved that they are the best in the business.
