In the second episode of Highway Thru Hell season 1, titled "Where's My Rotator?," we follow the crew of Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue as they face new challenges on the treacherous Coquihalla Highway in British Columbia, Canada. As the winter season sets in, the mountains become even more dangerous and unpredictable, making their job all the more difficult.

The episode begins with Jamie Davis, the owner of the heavy rescue company, receiving a call from a distressed truck driver whose rig has jackknifed on a tight curve. Jamie and his team race to the scene, knowing that time is of the essence. When they arrive, they find a difficult situation - the truck is too large to tow and too damaged to drive. To make matters worse, the incident has blocked an important access point, causing a major traffic jam.

Jamie and his crew work quickly to assess the situation and come up with a solution. They decide to use Jamie's prized rotator, a specialized piece of equipment that can lift the heaviest of vehicles, to move the truck out of the way. However, there's a catch - the rotator is currently being used on another call, and it will take several hours to retrieve it.

With time running out, the crew must think creatively to get the job done. They decide to use a heavy-duty wrecker to lift the back of the truck out of the way, allowing traffic to flow through. While it's not an ideal solution, it's the only one available at the time. The crew works carefully to attach the wrecker to the truck and gradually lift it off the ground. As they do so, they encounter another problem - the wrecker itself starts sliding backward, taking the truck with it.

The crew must act fast to prevent a disaster. They quickly come up with a plan to anchor the wrecker to a nearby guardrail, stabilizing it and allowing them to safely lift the truck out of the way. With traffic moving again, the crew focuses on retrieving the rotator, hoping to use it to remove the truck from the scene altogether.

As they wait for the rotator to arrive, the crew faces another challenge - a large semi has lost control and is blocking the highway in a different location. Jamie decides to split the crew up, sending half to deal with the second incident while the others wait for the rotator. The crew quickly arrives on the scene and sets to work, using a combination of chains and cables to lift the semi back onto its wheels.

Despite the initial success, the crew quickly realizes that the semi is still in a precarious position. They must work quickly to secure it before it rolls farther down the mountain and causes a major accident. With a combination of careful planning and expert skill, they manage to stabilize the truck and allow traffic to flow once again.

As the episode comes to a close, the rotator finally arrives, and the crew is able to use it to lift the damaged truck and move it completely off the highway. With both incidents resolved, the crew heads back to the garage, exhausted but satisfied with a job well done.

"Where's My Rotator?" is a thrilling and action-packed episode that showcases the danger and complexity of working on the Coquihalla Highway. With snow and ice always a threat, the crew must be constantly on their toes, ready to respond to any emergency. Despite the challenges they face, they remain dedicated to their work, using their skills and expertise to keep the roads safe for everyone who travels them.
