Ep 6. Hitchhiker

They soon discover that the station wagon used in the robbery belongs to a woman named Ruth who Tom has been staying with. The CHP officers head to Ruth's house to question her and find Tom hiding in her backyard. Tom attempts to flee but is apprehended by the officers.

After further questioning, it is revealed that Tom was involved in the gas station robbery along with another accomplice. He had been staying with Ruth, who was unaware of his criminal activities, and had convinced her to let him borrow her car. Tom had then picked up his accomplice and they had committed the robbery together.

After a thorough investigation, both Tom and his accomplice are arrested and charged with robbery. The case is successfully solved thanks to the quick thinking and diligent work of the CHP officers.
