Hey Duggee is a children's animated show that follows the adventures of Duggee, a big friendly dog, and his troop of animal children known as the Squirrels. Together they earn badges by learning new skills and having fun. In season 3, episode 1, titled "The Hiccup Badge," Duggee and the Squirrels set out to earn a new badge by figuring out how to cure hiccups.
The episode begins with the Squirrels excitedly gathering together to start their adventure. Duggee is waiting for them with a big board that displays the new badge they will be working towards - the Hiccup Badge. The Squirrels are uncertain of what they need to do to earn this badge, so Duggee explains that they need to figure out how to get rid of hiccups.
As they begin their search, the first thing the Squirrels do is ask each other if they know how to cure hiccups. Happy, the little purple rabbit, suggests that holding their breath might work, but it only results in some funny faces and a few more hiccups. After trying a few other remedies, the Squirrels realize they need more help.
Duggee brings out a big book about hiccups, and they start to learn all they can about this pesky condition. They discover that everyone gets hiccups, even their pets, and that there are many different ways to try and cure them. They learn ideas like drinking water and eating sugar, but still no one seems to find a way to cure their hiccups.
The Squirrels then decide to go out and ask their animal friends for their advice. They visit various animals including chickens, who squawk; owls, who hoot; and even some frogs, who ribbit. Sadly, none of these animals know how to get rid of hiccups either.
Finally, the Squirrels visit a wise old tortoise who lives in a nearby pond. The tortoise shares her wisdom with the Squirrels and reveals a secret remedy for curing hiccups. The Squirrels are thrilled to finally have found the cure they were looking for. They quickly return to Duggee and proudly demonstrate their newfound hiccups cure.
The episode concludes with the Squirrels receiving their new Hiccup Badge, which they all proudly stick on their shirts as proof of their achievement. Duggee congratulates them on a job well done, and everyone celebrates a new badge earned.
Overall, "The Hiccup Badge" is a funny and educational episode that teaches kids about the science behind hiccups. The episode also reinforces the importance of teamwork and perseverance in problem-solving. The Squirrels demonstrate that by combining their knowledge and reaching out for help when needed, they can achieve great things. This message is a valuable lesson for kids and is conveyed in a fun and engaging way through the delightful characters and beautiful animation of Hey Duggee.
