In Tour de Pond, Arnold and Gerald decide to enter the annual soapbox derby race, which takes place on a dangerous hill leading down to the park pond. Arnold is excited to build a car, but Gerald is more interested in winning. When their car falls apart during testing and they decide to rebuild it, Arnold becomes frustrated with Gerald's lack of creativity. However, they eventually compromise and build a unique car that impresses the other racers. During the race, they face tough competition from Wolfgang, the bully of the neighborhood, who will do anything to win. In Teacher's Strike, the teachers at P.S. 118 go on strike over a salary dispute, leaving the students with a substitute teacher who doesn't take her job seriously.
