Lucy and the Little Old Lady is the seventeenth episode of the fourth season of Here's Lucy. The episode starts with Lucy's mother, Mrs. Carter, receiving a phone call from an old friend, Mrs. Falls. Mrs. Falls has just moved to Los Angeles from the East Coast, and she wants to reconnect with Mrs. Carter. Mrs. Carter agrees to meet with her, but when she realizes that Mrs. Falls has put on a lot of weight since the last time they saw each other, she is not sure if she wants to spend time with her.
Lucy tries to convince her mother that she should still see Mrs. Falls, but Mrs. Carter is not convinced. Meanwhile, Lucy gets a call from Harry, who has been hired to provide security for a valuable piece of jewelry that is going to be displayed at a local museum. Harry asks Lucy to come down to the museum and help him out.
When Lucy and her mother arrive at the museum, they run into Mrs. Falls, who also happens to be there. Mrs. Falls is carrying a large handbag, which she says she needs to keep with her at all times. Lucy and Mrs. Carter are suspicious of the bag, but Mrs. Falls assures them that it is nothing to worry about.
As they tour the museum, Lucy and Mrs. Carter notice that Mrs. Falls seems to be acting strangely. She keeps hiding behind walls and ducking behind exhibits. Lucy realizes that something is not right and decides to investigate.
Lucy sneaks up behind Mrs. Falls and reaches into her bag. She pulls out a piece of jewelry that is identical to the one Harry is supposed to be guarding. Lucy realizes that Mrs. Falls is a thief who is trying to steal the jewelry. She calls Harry, who comes to the museum and arrests Mrs. Falls.
After Mrs. Falls is taken away, Lucy and her mother reflect on the situation. Mrs. Carter realizes that she was wrong to judge Mrs. Falls based on her appearance and that she should have given her a chance. Lucy reminds her mother that people should not be judged based on their appearance and that you should always give them the benefit of the doubt.
The episode ends with Lucy and Mrs. Carter making plans to have lunch with Mrs. Falls once she is released from jail. They decide that they should not let one mistake ruin a long-standing friendship.
Overall, Lucy and the Little Old Lady is a lighthearted and humorous episode that tackles the serious issue of judging people based on their appearance. It's a great reminder that we should always be kind and open-minded towards others, regardless of how they look or act. The episode also showcases the great comedic talent of Lucille Ball, who delivers plenty of laughs throughout the episode.
