Ep 12. Lucy Helps David Frost Go Night-Night

Lucy Helps David Frost Go Night-Night is an episode from season 4 of Here's Lucy, a sitcom starring Lucille Ball as Lucy Carter, a single mother who works at a talent agency owned by her brother-in-law, Harry (played by Gale Gordon).

In this episode, Lucy's teenage son, Craig (played by Desi Arnaz Jr.), is excited to attend a taping of The David Frost Show, a popular talk show hosted by the titular British journalist. However, Craig is disappointed when he finds out that the tickets he won are for a taping that takes place late at night, after his bedtime.

Meanwhile, Harry is dealing with his own problems when his car breaks down on his way to pick up a valuable client from the airport. Desperate to make a good impression, Harry enlists the help of his bumbling assistant, Sherman (played by Herb Vigran), to transport the client in a dilapidated old car borrowed from Lucy's building superintendent, Mr. Mooney (played by Charles Lane).

As the night wears on, Lucy and Craig enjoy watching the taping of The David Frost Show, but Lucy becomes increasingly frustrated when she realizes that the show's producers have no intention of letting her talk about her planned topic. Instead, she is asked to participate in a silly comedy sketch, much to her chagrin.

Back at the talent agency, Harry and Sherman struggle to keep their client happy as they navigate the rundown car through traffic. When they finally arrive at the airport, they are forced to rush through the terminal in a frenzy, resulting in a series of comical mishaps.

As Lucy's segment on The David Frost Show finally comes to a close, she realizes that she never got to discuss the topics she wanted to talk about. David Frost apologizes and offers her a chance to come back on the show to discuss her work as a single mother, which Lucy eagerly accepts. Despite the disappointment, Lucy and Craig have a great time at the taping and head home with smiles on their faces.

In the end, Harry and Sherman finally arrive at the talent agency with their client, who is inexplicably thrilled with the chaotic experience. As Harry and Sherman celebrate a job well done, Lucy puts Craig to bed, ready for a good night's sleep after a long and eventful evening.
