Ep 12. The Sword of Veracity

In Hercules: The Legendary Journeys season 2 episode 12, titled "The Sword of Veracity," the hero Hercules and his companion Iolaus travel to the kingdom of Thessaly to help their old friend Jason, who has become the king. However, they soon discover that Jason has been bewitched by his advisor, the sorceress Menenius, and that the kingdom is in chaos.

Hercules and Iolaus investigate the situation and find out that Menenius has gained control over Jason by using a magical sword called the Sword of Veracity, which compels its owner to tell the truth and follow its commands. Menenius plans to use Jason's armies to conquer other kingdoms and rule the world.

To stop Menenius and save Jason, Hercules and Iolaus must find a way to neutralize the Sword of Veracity and break its spell. They seek the help of a wise oracle, who tells them that the only way to overcome the sword's power is to use a counter-charm made from the horn of a unicorn, which is only found in a distant land.

With the oracle's instructions, Hercules and Iolaus set out on a perilous journey through dark forests and treacherous mountains to find the unicorn and obtain its horn. Along the way, they face many challenges and dangers, including a band of thieves, a tribe of hostile Amazons, and a giant guardian who blocks their path.

Despite these obstacles, Hercules and Iolaus persevere and finally reach the land of the unicorn. They find the magical creature but must convince it to give them its horn, which it treasures above all else. Hercules uses his empathy and wisdom to understand the unicorn's needs and desires and earns its trust and friendship. In return, the unicorn offers its horn willingly and gives Hercules and Iolaus a blessing that will help them in their quest.

Armed with the unicorn's horn, Hercules and Iolaus return to Thessaly and confront Menenius and Jason. In a fierce battle, they neutralize the Sword of Veracity and break its spell, freeing Jason from Menenius' control. However, Menenius has one last trick up her sleeve and summons a giant monster to destroy Hercules and his friends.

Undaunted, Hercules fights the monster with all his might and skill, using the unicorn's blessing to bolster his strength and courage. In an epic showdown, he defeats the monster and vanquishes Menenius once and for all.

With the kingdom of Thessaly restored to peace and order, Hercules and Iolaus bid farewell to Jason and set out on a new adventure, ready for whatever challenges and wonders await them.
