Set in the ancient world of Greek mythology, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys follows the adventures of the demigod Hercules (played by Kevin Sorbo) as he travels the land, fighting monsters and helping those in need. In season 1, episode 3, entitled "The Road to Calydon," Hercules comes to the aid of Princess Leda (played by Michelle Langstone), who is on the run from her treacherous uncle, King Oenomaus (played by Grant Bridger).
As the episode begins, Hercules is traveling through the countryside when he comes across a group of bandits attacking a caravan. He quickly intervenes, dispatching the bandits and rescuing the travelers, one of whom is Princess Leda. She explains that she is fleeing from her uncle, who wishes to kill her and claim the throne of Calydon for himself. Hercules agrees to accompany her on the dangerous journey to Calydon, where they hope to raise an army to take on the treacherous king.
Their journey is not an easy one, as they must navigate treacherous terrain and fend off attacks from Oenomaus' soldiers. Along the way, they encounter a number of other characters who help or hinder them in their quest. These include Kirin (played by Vanessa Stacey), a skilled archer who joins their cause; Iolaus (played by Michael Hurst), a rogue who initially tries to rob them but eventually decides to help out; and Erythia (played by Laura Williams), a sorceress who has her own agenda.
As they draw closer to Calydon, Hercules and his companions must use all their skills and wits to outsmart Oenomaus and his soldiers. Along the way, there are plenty of action-packed fight scenes, as well as moments of humor and romance. Will Hercules and Leda be able to defeat the evil king and restore peace to Calydon?
