Ep 9. Hercules and the Pool Party

Hercules: The Animated Series is a spin-off of the famous 1997 Disney film about the mighty Greek hero. The show aired on Disney Channel from 1998 to 1999 and follows the adventures of Hercules during his teenage years, while he attends a school for gods and mortals on Mount Olympus.

Season 1 Episode 9 of Hercules: The Animated Series is called "Hercules and the Pool Party," and it first aired on November 7th, 1998.

The episode begins with Hercules and his friends Icarus and Cassandra excitedly discussing the upcoming pool party at Prometheus Academy, their school. The party is hosted by the centaur Chiron, who is also their gym teacher, and it's a highly anticipated social event where students can swim, dance, and have fun. However, the gang soon realizes that they have a problem: Hercules is afraid of water!

Hercules reveals that he never learned how to swim and has always avoided water because he's afraid he'll drown. His friends try to convince him to come to the party anyway, but Hercules is hesitant. However, his dilemma becomes even more urgent when he learns that Zeus, his father and the king of the gods, is attending the party too.

Zeus is notorious for his love of partying and having fun, and Hercules doesn't want to disappoint him by missing out on the festivities. So, he decides to confront his fear and learn how to swim. He seeks help from Chiron, who is a skilled swimmer and offers to teach him.

At first, Hercules struggles with the basics of swimming, flailing around in the water and barely able to stay afloat. Chiron is patient and encouraging, however, and Hercules gradually starts to improve. Meanwhile, Cassandra and Icarus are having a great time at the party, dancing and socializing with their classmates.

As the day goes on, Hercules and Chiron take a break from their swimming lessons and join the rest of the students at the party. Hercules is nervous but tries to act cool, and he even impresses some of his classmates with his strength and agility. However, things take a chaotic turn when a group of mischievous satyrs crash the party and start causing trouble.

The satyrs are known for their wild behavior and love of pranks, and they quickly start causing chaos at the pool party. They steal food and drinks, break decorations, and start a massive water fight that drenches everyone. Hercules and his friends try to stop them, but they're outnumbered and outmatched.

However, just when things seem hopeless, Hercules has a breakthrough. He remembers the swimming lessons that Chiron taught him and uses his newfound skills to outmaneuver the satyrs and take control of the situation. He dives and swims through the pool, dodging water balloons and squirting satyrs, and manages to grab the theft of their horns.

With the satyrs defeated and peace restored to the party, Hercules is hailed as a hero. Even Zeus is impressed by his son's bravery and skill, and he tells him that he's proud of him. Hercules is thrilled and relieved, knowing that he conquered his fear and made his father proud.

The episode ends with Hercules, Icarus, and Cassandra lounging at the pool, basking in the sun and their victory over the satyrs. Hercules is happy and content, knowing that he conquered his fear and had a great time with his friends at the pool party.
