In Hercules: The Animated Series season 1 episode 13, titled "Hercules and the Living Legend", Hercules and Icarus attend the Olympics in honor of their hometown, Thebes. At the event, the two friends meet Philoctetes' former competitor, Tityus, who now hosts a popular talk show and is hailed as a legend by the people.
Feeling overshadowed by Tityus' popularity, Phil convinces Hercules to enter the strength competition to prove he's still the true hero. However, Tityus warns Hercules that he's not as invincible as he thinks and secretly plots to have him humiliated in front of the crowd.
Meanwhile, Megara and Pegasus are also attending the Olympics, but are more interested in the fashion event than the sports. Megara unwittingly gets involved in a scheme by an unscrupulous designer, who plans to sabotage the competition and steal the prize money.
As the competitions progress, Hercules faces increasingly difficult challenges, but manages to overcome them with his strength and ingenuity. However, Tityus' sabotage eventually comes to light, leading to a confrontation between the two competitors and a surprising revelation about Tityus' true identity.
In the end, Hercules emerges victorious and earns the respect of the crowd, while Phil comes to terms with his own insecurities and learns to appreciate his own achievements. Megara also manages to outsmart the designer and save the fashion event from disaster.
