The 21st season of Hell's Kitchen (U.S.) kicks off with episode one titled Let the Battle Begin. The team with the best dishes will be declared the winner of the challenge, while the losing team will have to face a cook-off to determine who will be sent home.

The dishes are presented to Chef Ramsay, and after careful consideration, he declares the Blue team, who just enjoyed a luxurious seafood feast, the winners of the challenge! The Red team is devastated and must face an elimination cook-off.

To end the first episode of the new season, Ramsay asks the Red team to select two chefs to face the elimination cook-off, and they choose two chefs who made crucial mistakes during the challenge. The two chefs go head-to-head, preparing their dishes in front of Chef Ramsay and the other contestants. Ramsay tastes the dishes and decides which chef will have to leave the competition.
