Amy and the Heartland crew are back in season 12 episode 7, titled "Running Scared". In this episode, they deal with the aftermath of a hit-and-run accident involving Apollo, a horse in their care. Added to this, Jade has yet another problem of her own to deal with as she tries to keep Baby Lyndy from choking on something she ate.
As Apollo's condition worsens, Amy frantically searches for answers and tries to put the pieces of the puzzle together. She and Ty investigate and question anyone who may have seen something. Meanwhile, Georgie helps out by keeping Apollo calm and keeping herself busy with wrapping up everything from school.
As they try to put together clues, Tim is persuaded by Miranda, his new lady, to run for mayor. Lou is not happy with this news, but Tim assures her that he will only do it for a better future for the town. As the campaign trail comes through Heartland, Lou gets a surprise visit with a tempting offer regarding her company. However, she is unsure of the direction she wants to go in.
As the big day for Tim's campaign launches, something unexpected happens and it seems like the odds are working against him. Meanwhile, Amy and Ty finally catch a break in their investigation into the hit-and-run. They discover that the driver is someone they know and it’s up to them to confront him and to help Apollo get through.
Back at Heartland, Jade finally discovers what Baby Lyndy ate and it's causing her to be quite anxious. She rushes to get help, but unfortunately things take a turn for the worse. With Apollo's health still in question and Lyndy in danger, the Heartland crew is left feeling helpless and scared.
"Running Scared" is a gripping episode that keeps you on the edge of your seat with suspense and emotion. It showcases Heartland’s characters bonding together through tough situations as they work towards finding solutions. But it’s also a reminder of the fragility of life and how important it is for us to protect our loved ones by staying patient, listening to the right advice, and looking out for each other.
