Ep 4. Hard to Say Goodbye

Amy and Ty are trying to come to terms with the fact that they need to let go of their beloved mare, Phoenix. The couple is struggling with the idea of giving up their horse and saying goodbye to a member of their family. Meanwhile, Lou is dealing with her own issues as she tries to focus on her career and her family at the same time. She is working hard to expand her business empire while also trying to be present for her young daughter, Georgie. Georgie, on the other hand, is still processing the recent loss of her friend, Olivia, and is struggling to find a way to move on.

Amidst all of this turmoil, the Heartland team is called in to help a young horse that has been severely mistreated. The mare is in terrible condition, and it is unclear whether she will even survive. The team works together to help the mare recover, and they are eventually able to nurse her back to health. Through this experience, they realize just how much they love their job and how much they care for the animals they work with.

As the season continues, Amy and Ty come to a difficult decision about Phoenix, one that will change their lives forever. Meanwhile, Lou continues to struggle with balancing her work and her personal life, and Georgie works on finding a way to come to terms with her grief. As usual, the Heartland team is there for one another through all of the ups and downs, supporting each other through life's toughest moments.
