Hawaii Five-O is a classic police procedural drama that aired from 1968 to 1980. Set in Honolulu, it followed a team of detectives from the fictional state police department's special investigative unit, known as "Five-O". The show starred Jack Lord as the determined and stoic team leader, Steve McGarrett, joined by James MacArthur as his second-in-command, Danny Williams, as well as Kam Fong as Chin Ho Kelly and Zulu as Kono Kalakaua.
Season 2 episode 5, titled "Savage Sunday," begins with a shocking act of terrorism when a car bomb explodes during a local charity race, killing several people. In the immediate aftermath, Five-O is called in to investigate the attack and root out those responsible.
As the team digs deeper into the case, they quickly realize that the bombing was just the opening salvo in a much larger and deadlier plot. The criminals behind the attack are a band of ruthless militants with a bone to pick against the U.S. government, and they have no qualms about killing innocent civilians to make their point.
Steve and his team must race against the clock to stop the terrorists before they can carry out their next move, which could have even more devastating consequences. Along the way, they enlist the help of a veteran cop who has experience dealing with similar groups, and together they work tirelessly to prevent another attack from occurring.
As the investigation unfolds, the team uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal, making it increasingly difficult to know who to trust. Several key suspects are identified and questioned, including a member of the local fishing community who may have unwittingly aided the terrorists, and a wealthy businessman with a hidden agenda.
In the end, Steve and the rest of Five-O must use all of their skills and resources to track down the culprits and neutralize their threat once and for all.
"Savage Sunday" is a thrilling and action-packed episode that showcases the best of Hawaii Five-O's signature blend of crime-solving and high-stakes drama. With its intense storyline and dynamic characters, it remains a fan favorite among viewers to this day.
