During the ninth episode of Season 2 of "Haven" titled "Lockdown," viewers are taken on a fast-paced ride as the town of Haven is plunged into panic and darkness.
As the episode begins, Audrey Parker (Emily Rose) and Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant) are investigating a murder. Their search leads them to a printing press in Haven where they find the body of a woman who had been coated in ink and was crushed to death by the press. As the investigation gets underway, things take a turn for the worse as the pair realizes that the entire city has been put on lockdown after an outbreak of a deadly virus. With no way out and time running out, Audrey and Nathan must scramble to find a way to prevent the virus from wiping out the entire town.
The scene then shifts to the Haven Sheriff's office where Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour) is being held captive while awaiting transfer to a federal prison. Duke quickly realizes that he is now trapped in the jail along with many others when he discovers that there is no way out of the building. As panic sets in, Duke sets out to try and find a way to escape, but he quickly realizes that it will be no easy task as the building is fortified with reinforced steel doors, windows that can't be broken, and walls that are impenetrable.
Meanwhile, Audrey and Nathan are frantically trying to find a cure for the virus that is spreading rapidly through the town. With time running short, they begin consulting with Haven's Elizabeth, a medical expert, to try and develop a cure. But Elizabeth soon realizes that the virus is unlike any she has ever seen before and is far more complex than they could've imagined.
As the investigation continues, Audrey and Nathan begin to suspect that the virus may be man-made, putting the town even more at risk. To make matters worse, they soon discover that the virus is extremely contagious and anyone who comes into contact with it is at risk of becoming infected.
Back at the Sheriff's office, Duke is quickly losing hope of ever escaping the building as he realizes that there is no way out. Amidst his struggles, Duke begins consulting with other prisoners who have also been locked up in the jail. As they exchange ideas, they start to brainstorm and plan a way out.
As the episode progresses, Audrey and Nathan are forced to quarantine themselves to prevent the virus from spreading. But with each passing moment, they become more and more convinced that they are too late and that the virus is spreading faster than they can contain it.
Duke and the prisoners in the makeshift jail then launch a daring escape plan, the likes of which Haven has never seen before. But with so much chaos and disorder, the chances of them actually making it out of the town are slim to none.
The episode ends on a dramatic cliffhanger leaving viewers on the edge of their seats. Overall, "Lockdown" is a gripping and suspenseful episode of "Haven" that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
