Haunted Hospitals season 3 episode 5 is titled "The Hand of Death." In this episode, viewers follow the horror stories of patients, staff, and those who visit the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. The episode features bone-chilling stories of paranormal events and entities that lurk in the dark corridors and rooms of this 120-year-old hospital.
The first story of "The Hand of Death" revolves around a nurse named Diane, who is on the night shift. She's taking care of a patient named John, who is recovering from major surgery. Diane begins to experience strange occurrences while working in John's room. She hears footsteps, doors opening and closing, and even has a feeling of someone gently holding her hand. She brushes it off as just her imagination until there's one night where John wakes up screaming, saying that he saw his dead father in the room.
The next story follows a cardiac patient named Claire. She was recovering from surgery when she witnessed an apparition of a scary-looking man in a hospital gown and mask. The entity terrified her, and she claims it was so real that she felt the cold breath on her face. The spookiness does not end there. As she tries to recover from her surgery, she experiences unexplainable fever spikes, each time increasing in temperature. She even sees the masked man entering her room every time a fever spike happens, which leads to her fearing for her life.
Then there is the story of a security guard named Jared, who was assigned to the basement of the hospital, which happens to be the morgue. He worked alone on the night shift, surrounded by dead bodies. One night, as he patrols the basement, Jared notices the doors to the morgue's fridges opening and closing by themselves. Furthermore, he sees the apparition of a woman in a white dress moving towards him. The woman disappears right before reaching him, but Jared claims to feel her cold hand on his back before vanishing.
Another story is of a patient named Linda, who had an encounter with a nurse while at Royal Victoria Hospital. Linda noticed that the nurse had a strange mark on her finger that looked like an eye. Linda didn't think much of it at the time, but things began to get eerie soon after. She began to have recurring nightmares featuring the same eye on a giant hand, which Linda recognized as the nurse's finger. She fears for her life as the hand appears to be stalking her, watching her every move.
Lastly, the episode features the story of a nurse, Mary-Anne, who is on night duty. She's attending to a patient who's in a coma in one of the rooms. Suddenly, as the nurse looks away for a moment, she sees that the patient's life-support machine has stopped working. She quickly goes over to the machine and sees the apparatus being held down by an invisible force, unable to restart it. She struggles with the machine, which is now under the control of an unknown entity. She sees a ghostly hand on the machine, which seems to be killing the patient.
In total, "The Hand of Death" offers five frightening stories of paranormal activity inside the walls of one of Montreal's oldest hospitals. Watch the episode to see how the staff and patients at Royal Victoria Hospital overcome their fears and survive through their ominous experiences.
