Harlots is a historical drama series set in 18th century London. It follows the lives of two rival brothel owners, Margaret Wells and Lydia Quigley, and their struggles for power and survival.
In season 3 episode 5, tensions rise as Margaret and Lydia continue their feud. Margaret is still reeling from the death of her daughter Charlotte, and seeks comfort in the arms of her lover, Nancy. However, Lydia is not content to let Margaret grieve in peace, and sends her henchmen to attack Margaret's brothel.
Meanwhile, Margaret's daughter Lucy is struggling with her own romantic entanglements. She has fallen in love with a young man named Lord Repton, but realizes that he only sees her as a plaything. Lucy must decide whether to continue the affair or break things off and preserve her self-respect.
Elsewhere, Emily Lacey is dealing with the fallout from her decision to leave Greek Street and join Lydia's brothel. She finds that life under Lydia's thumb is even more dangerous than she anticipated, and begins to plot her escape.
As the episode unfolds, tensions rise and secrets are revealed. Will Margaret be able to defend her brothel against Lydia's attack? Will Lucy find happiness with Lord Repton, or will she realize that she deserves better? And will Emily be able to escape Lydia's clutches and start a new life?
