In season 7, episode 7 of Happy Days, titled "Fonzie's a Thespian," the gang prepares to put on a variety show at Arnold's to raise money for a local charity. Fonzie, who initially plans to simply emcee the event, surprises everyone when he reveals his desire to perform a dramatic monologue from Shakespeare's "Hamlet."
As Fonzie struggles with the complex language and emotional depth of the monologue, the rest of the gang rallies to support him and make the variety show a success. Meanwhile, Howard and Marion Cunningham deal with their own problems as they try to find the perfect gift for their upcoming anniversary.
