Meanwhile, Fonzie is looking for a new mechanic for his garage. He offers the job to Potsie but quickly realizes that Potsie doesn't have the skills or knowledge to be a mechanic. Fonzie then offers the job to Richie, who is thrilled at the opportunity to work with his idol.

At first, Richie struggles to keep up with the demands of the job. He has trouble fixing cars and keeping track of inventory. However, with Fonzie's guidance and patience, Richie eventually gains the skills and knowledge he needs to be a successful mechanic.

The episode also explores the dynamic between Richie and his father, Howard. Howard is proud of his son for getting a job, but he is disappointed that Richie is not following in his footsteps and pursuing a career in business. This tension between father and son is compounded when Howard's business partner offers Richie a job with their company.
