Ep 16. Uncle Manny; Kitty Sitting

Handy Manny season 1 episode 16 titled "Uncle Manny; Kitty Sitting" follows the beloved Handy Manny as he takes on two challenges simultaneously. The episode starts with Manny who is excited to have his young nephew, Pepe, visiting him. Manny prepares a fun-filled day for his nephew with exciting activities such as going to the park and having a picnic. On their way back to Manny's shop, they notice a poster for a upcoming pet show. Pepe gets excited about the idea of participating and asks Manny if they can enter. Manny agrees, but realizes that they need to find something to enter in the show, a cat.

Manny offers to take care of Mrs. Portillo's cat for the day, as Mrs. Portillo was going out of town. Manny and Pepe head over to Mrs. Portillo's house to pick up the cat. Upon arriving, they see that the cat does not seem happy and scratches Manny. Mrs. Portillo asks Manny to bring the cat back home if it does not work out. Manny agrees and takes the cat to his workshop. He and Pepe try to find the perfect toy for the cat, but the cat is not interested in any of them. Eventually, Pepe and Manny discover that the cat likes to play with balls of yarn. Pepe gets worked up trying to knit the perfect ball, while Manny shows Pepe how to create a proper ball of yarn. The cat seems to enjoy playing with Pepe's ball of yarn.

Meanwhile, Manny's tools call him over to Rusty's auto shop, where Rusty is in need of a replacement part. Manny leaves Pepe in charge of taking care of the cat. He reminds Pepe to keep an eye on the cat and to not let it out of his sight. Pepe is confident in his ability to watch the cat and agrees to take on the responsibility, but things go awry soon after with Pepe getting distracted by other things. The cat sneaks out of the workshop without Pepe noticing.

Manny finishes up at Rusty's shop and heads back to his workshop to check up on Pepe and the cat. Upon arriving, he sees that the cat is missing. Manny instantly gets worried and starts to panic. Pepe, who is now feeling bad for losing the cat, helps Manny look for it. They discover that the cat went back home to Mrs. Portillo's house. Mrs. Portillo expresses her thanks to Manny for taking care of the cat, but mentions that she does not think the cat would enjoy being in a show or any competition.

Manny and Pepe decide to bring the cat back to Mrs. Portillo's house, but notice that something is wrong when they arrive. Mrs. Portillo's dog, Chico, has gotten himself trapped in a bucket and cannot get out. Manny and Pepe realize that they need to act fast to rescue Chico and call for help from their friend Elliot. With Elliot's help, they manage to free Chico from the bucket and save the day.

The episode ends with Manny, Pepe, and Chico returning the cat back home to Mrs. Portillo. Manny and Pepe reflect on the day's events and the lessons they learned. They realize the importance of being responsible and trustworthy when taking care of pets and understand that winning a competition should not come at the expense of an animal's happiness. The episode concludes with a happy and relieved Manny, proud of his nephew Pepe for taking responsibility and learning a valuable lesson.
