As Ohana continues to adjust to her new life at Kissuiso Inn, tensions rise among the staff in episode 12 of Hanasaku Iroha. Ohana is still struggling to find her place among her coworkers and understand the expectations put on her as a waitress. Her attempts to be friendly with her fellow waitresses are met with stand-offish reactions, leading her to feel even more isolated.

Meanwhile, tensions are brewing between the inn's front desk clerk, Minko, and head chef, Tohru. Minko is upset by Tohru's decision to add a new item to the menu without consulting her, while Tohru is frustrated by Minko's stubbornness and refusal to try new things. The two argue, putting a strain on the already fragile dynamics within the inn.

As the day progresses and customers come and go, more conflicts arise. Ohana accidentally spills tea on a customer and must deal with the consequences. Nako, one of the waitresses, is assigned to clean the bathhouse but struggles with the grueling work. And Tomoe, the head waitress, finds herself feeling overwhelmed by the responsibilities of managing the inn.

Despite the chaos, the staff of Kissuiso Inn sticks together and helps one another through their respective challenges. Ohana receives a surprising message from her mother, offering an unexpected opportunity. Minko and Tohru may not see eye to eye, but they work together to create a new dish for the menu. And Tomoe finds support from her fellow waitresses as she adjusts to her new role.

As the day draws to a close and the staff reflects on the events of the day, they realize that they have come to rely on one another and that the bonds they have formed are stronger than any conflict.
