Emma, Cleo and Rikki have decided to go for a weekend trip on Lewis's new boat. Lewis, however, is not so keen on going with them, being afraid of water, so instead he decides to stay behind and help his grandfather fix his car. Everything seems to be going well at first, until they injure a jetty and get stuck in the middle of the ocean. They eventually drift towards a small deserted island, where they have to set up camp and wait for help to arrive.
With no signs of being rescued, the girls have to work together to survive on the island. They soon discover that the island is not as deserted as they had initially thought. They come across a mysterious old lady who warns them that their presence might upset the balance of the island. They later discover that the old lady is actually a mermaid, and they try to help her find a special stone which is required for her to remain a mermaid. They also discover a group of sea turtles who need their help. They soon realize that they must work together with the mermaid to restore the natural balance of the island and set things right.
As time goes by, the girls begin to feel the effects of being away from civilization for so long. Emma misses her family and struggles to stay positive, Cleo is frustrated by the lack of privacy on the island, and Rikki's fiery temper causes tension between the group. However, as they spend more time on the island, they learn to appreciate each other's strengths and weaknesses, and they begin to grow closer as friends.
Finally, help arrives, and the girls are rescued from the island. Back in civilization, they reflect on their experiences and realize just how much they have learned about themselves and each other. They also learn that sometimes it takes being completely cut off from the rest of the world to truly appreciate what you have.
Overall, "Shipwrecked" is a thrilling and heartwarming episode that highlights the importance of teamwork, friendship and perseverance. It shows the girls facing challenges and overcoming them, both individually and as a group. It also introduces a new aspect to the show by revealing the existence of other mermaids, and it leaves the audience eager to see what the future holds for the girls and their newfound knowledge of the mermaid world.
