Guy Fieri, the host of the popular Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, is back with a new series called Guy's Family Road Trip, which premiered in 2017. In this show, Guy embarks on a road trip across the United States with his family, exploring different parts of the country and discovering local cuisines, cultures, and traditions along the way.

The show follows Guy, his wife Lori, and his sons Hunter and Ryder as they travel in their customized RV, which Guy refers to as the 'Groovy Bus'. The aim of the show is to showcase the diversity of American food and culture, and the fun and adventure that comes with travel.

Each episode is set in a different location, and Guy and his family immerse themselves in the local community, meeting people and trying out the unique cuisine. The show is not just about food, but also about highlighting the local landmarks, activities and events that make each destination special. Guy's infectious energy and outgoing personality add a fun, family-friendly dimension to the show, making it an enjoyable watch for foodies and travel enthusiasts alike.

The show is not scripted, and Guy interacts with locals and his family in a genuine and natural way. This gives viewers a sense of authenticity and honesty in the way that the show is presented. Guy's children provide a fresh perspective on the road trip, and their youthful curiosity and open-mindedness infuses the show with energy and excitement.

In each episode, Guy and his family participate in a variety of activities specific to the location they are visiting. For example, in the first episode, they visit the Grand Canyon in Arizona, where Guy and his family explore the breathtaking views and rappel down the canyon walls. In another episode, they visit the state of Texas, where they take part in a cattle drive and sample some of the local BBQ. In another episode, they visit Ohio, where they participate in the Goodyear Blimp Festival and try out the local pierogies.

The food aspect of the show is just as exciting as the travel. Guy and his family try out a range of cuisine, from local specialties to the more unusual, such as deep-fried bugs in Arizona, peanut butter and jelly sushi in Vegas, and turtle soup in Louisiana. Guy's enthusiasm for food is infectious, and he encourages his family and viewers to be adventurous and try new things.

Another interesting element of the show is the inclusion of cultural and historical information about each destination. It's not just about food and travel, but also about learning and understanding the history and culture of the places they visit. For example, in the Louisiana episode, we learn about the origins and historical significance of Mardi Gras, and the ways in which it's celebrated in different parts of the state.

Overall, Guy's Family Road Trip is an enjoyable and entertaining show that combines food, travel, and education. The interpersonal dynamic between Guy and his family adds a relatable and personal dimension to the show which viewers can enjoy. Guy's passion for food and travel is evident, and his enthusiasm is infectious. Though the series only lasted for one season, it left a lasting impression on the viewers who have undoubtedly been inspired to embark on their own road trip adventures.
