Kamina and Simon lead the rest of Team Dai-Gurren and their newly acquired battleship, the Dai-Gunzan, towards the Gunmen stronghold, Teppelin. They hope to bring an end to Lordgenome's rule and free humanity from the surface oppression. However, they are soon confronted by one of Lordgenome's Four Generals: Cytomander the Swift.
Cytomander, a bird-like humanoid, taunts the members of Team Dai-Gurren with his ability to fly and bombard them with feathers that explode on impact. Despite their efforts, the team struggles to hit Cytomander due to his speed and agility. Simon, frustrated with his inability to make an impact in the battle, decides to take matters into his own hands and pilots the Lagann solo to face Cytomander head-on.
With the help of his signature drill and sheer determination, Simon manages to damage Cytomander's Gunmen and forces him to retreat. The rest of the team is impressed with Simon's display of bravery and leadership. However, Kamina warns Simon that as a solo pilot, he risks putting himself in danger and leaving the team vulnerable.
Meanwhile, Lordgenome gives a cryptic warning to Cytomander about the true nature of humanity and the fate that awaits those who challenge him. We also see glimpses of a mysterious girl who seems to be connected to the spiral power that Kamina and Simon possess.
As the episode comes to a close, the team sets their sights on Teppelin once again, determined to take down Lordgenome and bring peace to the surface world.
Overall, "Having Lots of Faces Doesn't Make You Great!" is an action-packed episode that showcases both the strengths and weaknesses of the characters. It also hints at larger plot points and mysteries that will surely be explored in future episodes.
