In this episode of Gunsmoke titled "Brother Love," Matt Dillon (James Arness) is tasked with bringing in a man named Brother Love (played by Jack Elam), a charismatic preacher who has been accused of murder.

As Matt sets out to apprehend Brother Love, he encounters the preacher's loyal followers, who are fiercely protective of him and convinced of his innocence. Among them is a young woman named Lyla (played by Jena Engstrom), who catches Matt's eye and begins to question her own devotion to Brother Love as she spends more time with the lawman.

As Matt continues his investigation, he begins to uncover a web of deceit and manipulation surrounding Brother Love and his ministry. He realizes that the preacher's righteous persona is just a front for his true identity as a con man who has been moving from town to town, swindling people out of their money and committing crimes along the way.

With the help of Lyla and some unexpected allies, Matt finally brings Brother Love to justice. However, as he reflects on the case, he begins to question his own beliefs and the role that religion and faith play in the lives of those around him.

Filled with action, suspense, and moral dilemmas, "Brother Love" is a powerful exploration of the dangers of blind faith and the importance of justice and truth.
