In Gunsmoke season 2 episode 29, titled "Wrong Man", Marshal Matt Dillon is tasked with escorting a convicted killer named Ben Sissell to the state prison to serve out his sentence. However, things quickly take a turn when Sissell manages to steal Matt's gun and escape from custody.

With this new information, Matt and his companions track down Stark and bring him in for questioning. But things are not as clear-cut as they seem, and Matt soon realizes that there may be more to the situation than meets the eye.
As he delves deeper into the case, Matt must navigate a web of deceit and betrayal in order to uncover the true culprit and bring him to justice. Along the way, he must also confront his own doubts and insecurities about his abilities as a lawman.
The tension builds to a dramatic climax as the truth is finally revealed and justice is served. With its gripping storyline and complex characters, "Wrong Man" is a standout episode that showcases the best of Gunsmoke's signature blend of action, drama, and suspense.
