The Fortress of the Black Count is the second episode in the first season of the Guin Saga. The series follows the adventures of Guin, a warrior with the appearance of a leopard, as he sets out to fight the enemies of the Parros Kingdom.

In this episode, Guin, Rinda, and Istvan have been traveling through the forest when they encounter a group of soldiers from the Black Count’s army. Guin quickly takes charge and defeats the soldiers, but Rinda is injured in the fight.

Guin decides to take Rinda to the nearby Fortress of the Black Count to get medical attention. Istvan is hesitant to enter the fortress, as it is well known for being impregnable and heavily defended. However, Guin is convinced that they will be able to get the help they need, so they proceed to the fortress.

Once inside the fortress, Guin and his companions are greeted by a group of guards, who seem surprised to see them. They are taken to see the Black Count himself, who is surprised to see Guin, as he recognizes him from the battle of Soleil.

The Black Count agrees to treat Rinda’s injuries but demands that Guin do something for him in return. He asks Guin to retrieve an item called the Horn of Ill Omen, which was stolen from him by a group of rebels. Guin agrees to help and sets out with Istvan to retrieve the horn.

Meanwhile, Rinda is being treated by a healer named Marus, who has some surprising news for her. Marus reveals that Rinda’s father, the late King Gharn, had a secret child with a woman from the enemy Mongaul tribe. Rinda is shocked by the news and has a difficult time processing it.

Guin and Istvan successfully retrieve the Horn of Ill Omen, but they are ambushed by the rebels on their way back to the fortress. Guin fights off the attackers while Istvan delivers the horn to the Black Count. When they return to the fortress, Guin demands to know why the Black Count had the horn in the first place.

The Black Count reveals that the horn is essential for the upcoming war against the Mongaul tribe, who are planning to attack the Parros Kingdom. He asks Guin to join his army and fight against the Mongauls. Guin is hesitant to join the Black Count, as he does not agree with his methods, but he agrees to think it over.

The episode ends with Rinda confronting Marus about her parentage and Istvan telling Guin that he needs to make a choice about which side he is on in the upcoming war.

Overall, The Fortress of the Black Count is an action-packed episode that sets the stage for the upcoming war between the Parros Kingdom and the Mongaul tribe. It also explores some of the complex relationships and conflicting loyalties that exist among the characters.
