Ep 10. Claudia in Disguise with Glasses

Claudia in Disguise with Glasses is the tenth episode from the third season of Grounded for Life. In this episode, Claudia Donovan, sister of Eddie and Sean Finnerty's brother-in-law, makes a surprise visit. Claudia is very surprised by Lily's new glasses because it is very different from the glasses she used to wear. Claudia used to wear glasses similar to Lily's, and now she feels like she has lost a part of her identity.

As the family catches up and reminisces, Claudia reveals that she feels like she has lost herself. She tells the family that she feels like she's been living for everyone else and forgets what she truly wants. Claudia confesses that she doesn't know who she is anymore, and the family tries to give her advice.

In an attempt to help Claudia feel like herself again, Lily offers her sister-in-law to take her out shopping. Claudia agrees and is very excited about the prospect of getting a new look. Lily takes Claudia to a fancy boutique, and Claudia is a little hesitant about their decision to come here. However, Lily is insistent, and the two start looking for outfits.

As Claudia tries to make up her mind about the clothes, she starts to hyperventilate and passes out. The store employees call an ambulance, and the family rushes to the hospital. Claudia regains consciousness and reveals that an old boyfriend used to beat her up whenever she tried to change who she was. Lily and Sean reassure her that she is different now, and nobody will treat her like that anymore.

While Claudia is in the hospital, the family decides to continue with her shopping spree, hoping that it would help her to heal. As they pick out clothes, they talk about Claudia's troubled relationship history, and Sean tells a ridiculous story about the time he helped Claudia get over her ex by staging a carjacking.

Meanwhile, Claudia starts to have hallucinations about an ex-boyfriend who used to abuse her. The family tries to help her through her PTSD, but Claudia is adamant about going back home. She says that she needs to leave because she needs to find herself on her own, and this is just the beginning.

As they all gather at the hospital, the family reassures Claudia that they are there for her no matter what. Claudia admits that she's grateful for the time she spent with the family and appreciates how much they love and care for her. Meanwhile, Eddie returns from a fishing trip, and the episode ends with the family back at home, reminiscing about the past and hoping for the best for their loved ones.
