Ep 1. Lily B. Goode

Grounded for Life is an American sitcom show which was aired in 2001 and ran for five seasons across 91 episodes. It chronicles the life of the Finnerty family, who live in Staten Island, New York, and are always in the middle of one chaotic situation or another. The show’s themes revolve around family, growing up, and how to deal with life's daily challenges.

Back to Lily, she is still trying to prove her innocence about the sweater, but her parents don't believe her. They eventually ground her for a month, even though her friend, Brad Oreamuno, has come forward to say that the sweater was indeed won fair and square at the charity walk. The sweater, however, was actually stolen by Brad, who is now feeling guilty about it.

As the episode progresses, Sean and Claudia discover that Eddie’s construction work is shoddy, and they’re forced to face the fact that they’ll need to pay a professional to redo the work. They also find out that Eddie has been living rent-free in their basement for the past seven months. Sean and Claudia are initially angry at Eddie for taking advantage of them, but they realize that they need to communicate their feelings to him more assertively so that he knows that he’s not welcome to move back in after the basement is finished.

Meanwhile, Lily is left to stew in her punishment, feeling wronged and mistreated. She eventually confronts Sean and Claudia about her grounding and is able to convince them that she was telling the truth all along. The family comes together at the end of the episode to talk about their issues and express their feelings, and Sean and Claudia vow to be more communicative with the kids.
