Nick Burkhardt is a homicide detective, who is also a Grimm, someone who can see supernatural creatures who live among humans. He can see, hunt and kill them if they pose a threat to humans. Nick is also married to Adalind, a former Hexenbiest who is also a mother to his son, Kelly. As they continue their struggle against the Black Claw organization, which wants to overthrow the Wesen Council and take over the world, Nick and his friends are confronted by a new enemy in the form of the Tree People.
In season 6, episode 9 of Grimm, titled "Tree People", Nick and his allies must face a group of Wesen who live in the woods and worship the trees. Leith is also a shrewd and cunning leader, who will stop at nothing to protect his people, even if it means waging war against humans and other Wesen.
Meanwhile, Nick's relationship with Adalind is also under strain as they try to balance their personal lives with their professional responsibilities. Adalind struggles with her past as a Hexenbiest, and Nick tries to support her as she grapples with her identity. As they work together to solve the crisis of the dying trees, they also try to navigate the complexities of their relationship and their roles as parents to their son, Kelly.
