In season 12 episode 4 of Grey's Anatomy titled "Old Time Rock and Roll", the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital face various challenges while grappling with issues of trust, loyalty and honesty.
As the episode begins, a rockstar named Ronnie (played by Joe Adler) is admitted to the hospital with a serious case of vertigo. His condition worsens and the doctors realize that Ronnie's excessive drug use has caused irreversible damage to his brain. Despite their best efforts, Ronnie passes away, leaving his manager at a loss for what to do next.
Meanwhile, April (played by Sarah Drew) continues to struggle with her pregnancy after having a miscarriage earlier in the season. She confides in Arizona (played by Jessica Capshaw) that she feels like everyone is judging her for getting pregnant out of wedlock. Arizona reassures April that she has her back and will always support her, no matter what.
Elsewhere, Jo (played by Camilla Luddington) uncovers a disturbing secret about Alex's (played by Justin Chambers) past that threatens to tear their relationship apart. When Jo confronts Alex about it, he reacts defensively and storms out of their apartment, leaving Jo feeling confused and hurt.
In addition, Meredith (played by Ellen Pompeo) finds herself caught in the middle of a dispute between her half-sister Maggie (played by Kelly McCreary) and her former mentor Dr. Richard Webber (played by James Pickens Jr.). Maggie accuses Richard of stealing her research and presenting it as his own, but Richard insists that he did nothing wrong. Despite her personal feelings towards both parties, Meredith must remain impartial in order to resolve the conflict.
As the episode draws to a close, the doctors come to realizations about the true meaning of loyalty and trust. Some couples reconcile, while others are left to pick up the pieces of their broken relationships. Despite the challenges they face, the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital remain committed to providing the best care possible to their patients.
