After a successful first season, Greenleaf is back with its second season. This episode, Strange Bedfellows, is the second episode of the season and it sets the plot rolling for the upcoming episodes.

The Greenleaf family starts this episode with a prayer meeting at Calvary Fellowship World Ministries, and Bishop James Greenleaf (Keith David) starts preaching about the challenges that he is facing and how he is going to tackle them. Meanwhile, Grace Greenleaf (Merle Dandridge), one of the family members, is still trying to uncover the dark secrets of Calvary Fellowship World Ministries. She is struggling with her own demons and is grappling with the revelation that she might have played a role in the suicide of a pastor.

Meanwhile, Jacob Greenleaf (Lamman Rucker) and his wife Kerissa (Kim Hawthorne) are trying to move on from their previous affairs and the challenges that come with running a church. On the other hand, Charity Greenleaf (Deborah Joy Winans) is still struggling with her own personal issues and does not know how to deal with them.

The episode takes a surprising turn as Bishop has to make a decision that will determine the future of the church. He has to choose between a big business deal that could save the ministry or his family’s reputation. The pressure that he faces to make the right decision is immense. He confides in Lady Mae Greenleaf (Lynn Whitfield) about the deal, and she starts working behind the scenes to ensure that the church can secure the deal.

Grace, who is still trying to uncover the secrets of the church, comes across some shocking information that could affect the deal and Bishop’s reputation. She struggles with whether or not to reveal the information to her family and the church. Meanwhile, Jacob and Kerissa are trying to rebuild their relationship, but their efforts are hampered when an unexpected guest appears and reveals some explosive information.

Charity, who is dealing with her own issues, decides to undergo IVF treatment. She hopes that this will help overcome the challenges that she and her husband Kevin (Tye White) are facing in their marriage. However, her decision does not sit well with Kevin and causes a rift between them. Kevin is also dealing with his own issues, as he comes to terms with his sexuality.

As the episode progresses, it becomes clear that the family members are being tested in more ways than one. Each one of them is facing their own personal battles, whether it is Bishop’s decision about the deal, Grace's struggle to uncover the church's secrets, Charity's infertility, or Kevin's sexuality. The episode leaves the audience hanging as it sets the stage for the challenges that the family will have to face in the upcoming episodes.

Overall, Strange Bedfellows is an interesting episode that sets the groundwork for the rest of the season. It provides some much-needed character development and insight into the Greenleaf family, and the struggles they are dealing with. The performances are solid, and the writing is engaging, making it a good watch for fans of Greenleaf and those who enjoy character-driven dramas.
