Oliver and Lisa are busy tending to their farm when they stumble upon Arnold Ziffel, the pig's amazing singing ability. They discover that he has perfect pitch and a natural talent for music. Excited about Arnold's newfound talent, Oliver decides to promote him as a singing sensation. Lisa creates a costume for him and they send him to New York to audition for a national TV show that showcases talented animals. Arnold impresses the talent scouts and is invited to perform on the show. However, the family's happiness is short-lived when they learn that Arnold's TV appearance is the same day as a prestigious county fair where Oliver is a judge. The family has to make a tough choice between Arnold's opportunity for fame and success or supporting Oliver's local commitment. Meanwhile, the people of Hooterville are unaware of Arnold's big break.
