Ep 6. One of Our Assemblymen is Missing

Oliver Wendell Douglas, a well-to-do New York City lawyer, and his wife, Lisa, move to the fictional town of Hooterville to live a simpler life on a rural farm in the classic TV show, Green Acres. Season 2, Episode 6 is titled "One Of Our Assemblymen Is Missing."

The episode begins with Oliver receiving a phone call, informing him that Assemblyman Waxman is coming to inspect the water supply in Hooterville. Oliver is thrilled and excited, as this is an excellent opportunity for him to promote the farm, as well as the town. Meanwhile, Lisa, who is ever the glamorous and fashionable wife, is concerned about Assemblyman Waxman's visit, as she thinks that the farm and the town are not up to standard.

In preparation for the arrival of the Assemblyman, Oliver begins to make improvements to the farm and town, while Lisa prepares a big feast. However, when it is time for the Assemblyman to arrive, he does not show up. This leads to panic as his arrival was to determine whether Hooterville is eligible for a state grant.

Not wanting to disappoint and lose the grant for the town, Oliver, and a group of Hooterville residents, set out to find the Assemblyman. They divide themselves into small groups and set off in different directions to search for him. While the search is carried out, Oliver's farmhand Eb accidentally drinks a bottle of liquor that the Assemblyman had left behind earlier. This causes him to hallucinate, and he becomes convinced that he has seen the Assemblyman, but nobody believes him.

As the search continues, it is discovered that the Assemblyman never boarded his plane to Hooterville, and nobody knows where he is. Panic and chaos start to ensue in the small town, and Oliver and Lisa are determined to find the missing Assemblyman before it's too late.

In the end, after a series of hilarious events, the group finally manages to find Assemblyman Waxman. They discover that he had accidentally left his briefcase, which contained a map and other important documents, behind in the city. He had only returned to retrieve it, and in so doing, missed his flight. With everything resolved, he finally arrives in Hooterville to inspect the water supply.

Green Acres season 2 episode 6 is a great episode that showcases the comedic timing between the characters and the charming town of Hooterville. It's entertaining to watch the characters get into unexpected situations while trying to find the missing Assemblyman. The episode also highlights the importance of small towns banding together to promote their communities and shows off the quirky, lovable characters that make Green Acres such a classic sitcom.
