Ep 7. London & South East Fish

In the seventh episode of season 13 of Great British Menu, the spotlight falls upon some of the very best chefs from London and the South East of England as they attempt to create the ultimate fish dishes.

In this episode, the six chefs who have made it through the first round compete to see who can create the best fish dish, with the aim of winning a place in the final banquet to be held at Westminster Abbey. Judges Andi Oliver, Oliver Peyton, and Matthew Fort hold these chefs to the highest of standards as they prepare to sample some of the finest fish dishes that the region has to offer.

As always, the chefs face an intricate challenge in creating a dish that showcases their skill and creativity while remaining true to the theme. The chefs must create dishes that embody the iconic “Spirit of Summer”, evoking the pleasures of the season in every bite. This is no easy task, but each chef must think outside the box in order to create something truly exceptional within the boundaries of this brief.

In addition, the fish they use must also be sustainable, in keeping with the show’s commitment to promoting ethical and environmentally friendly cooking practices. So not only must the chefs create an innovative and delicious dish, they must also do so while adhering to strict standards of sustainability.

The tension is high as the chefs begin their preparations, each determined to create a dish that will wow the judges. The chefs put their individual stamp on classic fish dishes, incorporating fresh ingredients and unique techniques to create dishes that are truly one-of-a-kind.
