In season three of Goosebumps, episode eight entitled The Barking Ghost, viewers are introduced to Cooper's older sister, Kerri. Cooper and Kerri are spending the summer at their Aunt Kathryn's house, which is located in a small town in Maine. Kerri seems like a fun and adventurous sister to have, but Cooper knows that she can be a little reckless at times.
One day, Kerri hears about a haunted house in town and convinces Cooper to go explore it with her. Once they arrive, they discover that the house belonged to a wealthy family who had a beloved dog named Prince. Legend has it that when the family died, Prince was so heartbroken that he continues to haunt the house, barking and howling at night.
As Kerri and Cooper explore the house, they come across a strange dog collar that has Prince's name engraved on it. Suddenly, they hear barking and howling coming from the house, and they realize that Prince's ghost is still in the house. They quickly run out, but not before Cooper accidentally puts the dog collar on his neck.
That night, Cooper starts to feel strange. He starts barking and howling in his sleep, and he starts to think that he's turning into a dog. As the days go by, Cooper becomes more and more like a dog - he starts to grow hair all over his body, he can only communicate by barking, and he has an insatiable appetite for bones. His sister, Kerri, is concerned and decides to take matters into her own hands.
The two siblings set out to find a way to break the curse before it's too late. Along the way, they discover that Prince's ghost is not the only supernatural force at work. They encounter a reclusive old woman who warns them about an ancient Native American legend involving a shape-shifting creature known as the Wendigo.
Kerri and Cooper must race against time to break the curse before Cooper becomes a dog permanently. With the help of their aunt and the old woman, they piece together the puzzle of this haunted town and the ancient curse that has been placed on it.
Will Kerri and Cooper be able to break the curse and put an end to the town's haunting? Or will Cooper be stuck as a dog forever? Find out in season three, episode eight of Goosebumps: The Barking Ghost.
