Goof Troop season 1 episode 13, "Goof Under My Roof," follows the exploits of Goofy and his son Max as they navigate living together with their wacky neighbors in Spoonerville. As the title suggests, this episode centers around Goofy's attempts to make some home improvements, which quickly spiral out of control.
The episode begins with Goofy deciding to install a skylight in their living room, despite Max's apprehensions. Goofy enlists the help of his best friend and neighbor, Pete, who just so happens to be a contractor. But when Pete brings along his dimwitted nephew, P.J., things start to go awry. P.J. accidentally smashes a hole in the ceiling, causing the roof to collapse and leaving the house in shambles.
As Goofy and Max try to figure out how to fix their house, they are visited by a snooty real estate agent named Ms. Pennypacker, who says she wants to buy their property. Goofy, being the jovial and trusting character that he is, is eager to sell, but Max has his doubts. He suspects that Ms. Pennypacker is up to no good and is only interested in their property because it is prime real estate.
Meanwhile, Pete and P.J. try to fix the house while also trying to hide their screw-ups from Goofy. They enlist the help of another neighbor, a nerdy inventor named Ludwig Von Drake, who creates a Rube Goldberg-style contraption that will supposedly fix the roof. But, of course, things don't go as planned, and the contraption ends up causing chaos in the house.
As the chaos ensues, Max becomes increasingly suspicious of Ms. Pennypacker and decides to do some investigating. He sneaks into her office and discovers that she is indeed up to no good. Ms. Pennypacker is actually working for a big developer who wants to demolish all of the houses in Spoonerville to make way for a shopping mall. Max rushes back to Goofy to warn him, but Pete and P.J. accidentally knock him out with one of their tools.
In a last-ditch effort to save their home, Goofy, Pete, P.J., and Ludwig join forces to create their own makeshift contraption to fix the roof. The contraption is a success, and their house is saved just as Ms. Pennypacker and the developer arrive to buy it. The episode ends with all of the neighbors coming together for a big party to celebrate their victory.
Overall, "Goof Under My Roof" is a classic episode of Goof Troop that showcases the goofy humor and heartwarming relationships that define the series. With its wacky hijinks, sneaky villains, and heartwarming moments, it's sure to keep audiences of all ages entertained.
