Florida's Night Out is the eleventh episode of the fourth season of the popular American sitcom, Good Times. The episode originally aired on January 7, 1977, and follows the lives of the Evans family, a black family living in a poor neighborhood in Chicago during the 1970s.

The episode revolves around Florida, the matriarch of the Evans family, who is tired of being stuck at home all the time and decides to go out on a fun night with her girlfriends. Florida's husband, James, is initially hesitant about the idea, worried for her safety as they live in a dangerous neighborhood. But after some convincing, he agrees to let her go out and have some fun with her friends.

During Florida's night out, she runs into an old friend, Lenny, played by guest star Joe Morton. Lenny is a suave and successful businessman who takes an immediate interest in Florida. Despite feeling flattered by his attention, Florida is firm in her loyalty to James and quickly shuts down Lenny's advances.

However, things take a turn for the worse when Florida's friend Bernice's purse is stolen by a group of young boys. In an attempt to retrieve the purse, Florida and her friends end up in a dangerous and violent situation that leaves them all shaken up.

Meanwhile, back at the Evans household, James is dealing with his own problems. After hearing about Florida's night out with her friends, he becomes jealous and suspicious of her interactions with Lenny. He spends the evening drinking and getting into a heated argument with his best friend, Bookman, who tries to convince him to trust Florida.

In the end, Florida and her friends return home safely, grateful to be alive after their terrifying ordeal. James and Florida reconcile and reaffirm their love for each other, realizing that they are stronger together than apart.

Throughout the episode, themes of loyalty, trust, and the dangers of living in a poverty-stricken neighborhood are explored. The episode showcases the challenges and struggles faced by African American families during the 1970s, and the importance of a strong and supportive community.

Overall, Florida's Night Out is a poignant and thought-provoking episode of Good Times that tackles important issues while still providing plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments.
