Ep 8. Charlie 4, Toby 1

Charlie 4, Toby 1 is the eighth episode of the fourth season of the Disney Channel original series Good Luck Charlie. The episode opens with the Duncan family getting ready to head out to Toby's first football game. PJ, Teddy, and Gabe are excited to cheer on Toby, but Charlie is more interested in playing with her new stuffed whale toy.

At the game, the family meets Toby's parents, who are overly competitive and pushy. They constantly yell at Toby and demand that he do better on the field. Meanwhile, the Duncan kids are having a great time cheering for Toby and enjoying all the treats from the concession stand.

As the game progresses, Toby's parents become increasingly agitated with their son's performance. They start shouting at him and even throw a tantrum when Toby misses a catch. The Duncan family is uncomfortable with the tense atmosphere and Teddy suggests that they try to help Toby by talking to him during halftime.

During halftime, the Duncans sit down with Toby and offer him some encouragement. They tell him that they're proud of him no matter what and that they just want him to have fun playing football. Toby feels better after talking with them and heads back onto the field feeling more confident.

The second half of the game goes much better for Toby. He makes some great catches and even scores a touchdown, much to the delight of his family and friends. However, Toby's parents are still not satisfied with his performance and continue to criticize him.

After the game, the Duncans offer to take Toby out for ice cream to celebrate his first game. Toby's parents decline the invitation, opting instead to take Toby home and make him do extra practice drills. The Duncans are saddened by Toby's parents' behavior and Teddy suggests that they start a fundraiser to send Toby to football camp.

Back at home, Charlie is still enamored with her stuffed whale toy and refuses to go to sleep without it. PJ tries to convince her to give up the toy, telling her that she's too old for stuffed animals. However, Charlie insists that she still needs her whale and ends up hiding it in a secret spot.

The episode ends with the Duncans discussing their plans to fundraise for Toby's football camp and Teddy encouraging Charlie to keep being herself, even if it means having a stuffed whale as a bedtime companion.
