Teddy, the eldest child of the Duncan family, returns home from college to find that her bedroom has been taken over by her younger brother, Gabe, and his pet rat, Mickey. Teddy is not happy about this new living situation, especially since Mickey keeps escaping from his cage and running around the house.
Meanwhile, Amy and Bob have a big problem on their hands when their restaurant gets a health inspection, and they realize that their kitchen is infested with rats. They hire an exterminator, but the problem seems to be much bigger than they anticipated.
As Teddy tries to figure out how to coexist with Mickey, she comes up with a plan to train him to do tricks in order to impress her friends. However, things don't go quite as planned when Mickey gets loose during a performance and causes chaos.
At the same time, Amy and Bob decide to take matters into their own hands and try to catch the rats themselves. They set up traps all over the kitchen, but their attempts prove to be futile when they accidentally catch each other instead.
In the end, Teddy and Gabe come up with a solution to their living situation by building a giant cage for Mickey in the garage. Amy and Bob also manage to get rid of the rats with the help of a professional exterminator.
Overall, this episode of Good Luck Charlie focuses on the theme of problem-solving and finding creative solutions to unexpected challenges. It also highlights the importance of family and working together to overcome obstacles.
