Charlie is growing up fast, and Tedd and Amy have realized that they need to start delegating some of the parental responsibilities to the other kids in the house. In Team Mom, they promote Teddy to "Team Mom," a title that not only gives her more responsibility but also comes with a lot of perks, like a free car.
At first, Teddy is thrilled to be the one in charge, but she soon realizes that being a parent isn't as easy as it seems. After she takes the kids to a movie and accidentally leaves Charlie behind, she realizes that she needs to step up her game if she's going to be a good mom.
Things only get more complicated when Teddy insists on coaching the girls' volleyball team. She's convinced that she can lead them to victory, but she quickly learns that managing a group of rowdy preteens is a lot harder than it looks. Meanwhile, Gabe has his own problems when he volunteers to be the assistant coach for PJ's baseball team.
As the pressure mounts, Teddy starts to crack under the strain. When Amy comes back from her trip and finds out that Teddy has been running the household, she's impressed by her daughter's initiative but also concerned that Teddy is taking on too much. Teddy eventually realizes that she can't do everything on her own and that she needs to rely on her siblings and parents to help her out.
In the end, Teddy learns a valuable lesson about the importance of teamwork and delegation. She may not have the official title of "Team Mom" anymore, but she's proven that she's a leader in her own right. The episode is a heartwarming reminder that family is all about supporting each other through the ups and downs of life.
