Ep 8. Blue Eyes

Asirpa and her group have come across an Ainu village where Tanigaki had been hiding. The villagers are wary of them, but after some discussion, they agree to let them stay for the night. While there, Asirpa learns about a rare plant called Monkshood, which only grows in the area. The plant is said to be able to cure any ailment, and Asirpa hopes to find it to cure Ogata's gunshot wound.

Meanwhile, Ogata and Nikaido are on their own journey to find the other half of the Ainu treasure map. They come across a village where they try to gather information, but the villagers are hostile and refuse to talk. That is until they meet a young girl with a striking pair of blue eyes who takes them to her home. There, they meet her father, who tells them about a group of rogue soldiers who have been taking over nearby villages, including theirs. He also reveals that he has the other half of the treasure map.

As Ogata and Nikaido leave with the map, they are ambushed by the rogue soldiers. A tense battle ensues, but Ogata's sharpshooting skills and Nikaido's combat abilities prove to be too much for the soldiers. In the chaos, Ogata is able to get away with the map while Nikaido stays behind to hold off the soldiers.

Back at the Ainu village, tensions rise as Ogata and Nikaido have not returned. Asirpa worries about Ogata's wound and wonders if he and Nikaido are in trouble. Tanigaki decides to take matters into his own hands and sets out to find them. He comes across a group of soldiers who tell him about the rogue group and their leader, Lieutenant Tsurumi. Tanigaki recognizes the name and realizes that Tsurumi is his former commander from the war.

Tanigaki confronts Tsurumi, but the rogue soldiers surround him before he can do anything. However, at that moment, Ogata arrives and turns the tables, offering to help Tsurumi with his plans. In exchange, Tsurumi agrees to call off his men and let Tanigaki go.

With the other half of the treasure map in their possession and a new ally in Tsurumi, Asirpa and her group continue their journey through Hokkaido. But as they get closer to their goal, the danger and betrayal around them only seem to increase.
