In season 6 episode 4 of Gold Rush: Alaska, titled "Grandpa's Golden Advice," the stakes are high as the miners kick their operations into high gear.
Tony Beets faces a life or death situation when his dredge's pontoons shift, causing it to take on water and nearly capsize. With his crew's safety hanging in the balance, Tony and his team must work quickly to pump out the water and secure the machine before disaster strikes.
Meanwhile, Parker Schnabel and his crew continue their search for more gold, but are met with challenges when their excavator breaks down in the middle of the wilderness. With no roads in or out, Parker must rely on his team's resourcefulness and hope for a stroke of luck to get the vital piece of equipment to the claim site.
Todd Hoffman also faces setbacks when his excavator fails, leaving him unable to move massive boulders blocking his path to the gold. With limited options, Todd turns to his father, Jack, for advice on how to circumvent the problem.
But Jack's advice isn't the only nugget of wisdom being shared in this episode. Rick Ness receives his own share of "grandpa's golden advice" when he seeks the counsel of a seasoned miner. Will Rick take the old-timer's words to heart and strike gold, or will he continue to struggle in his rookie season?
As tensions rise and pressures mount, the miners must rely on their experience, skill, and some good old-fashioned luck to strike it rich in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. Will they all come out on top, or will the harsh conditions and unpredictable nature of the goldfields prove too much to overcome? Tune in to find out in Gold Rush: Alaska season 6 episode 4, "Grandpa's Golden Advice."
