When the episode Bird of Paradise opens, Nick is struggling to bond with a rebellious and angry Godzilla. At the same time, a group of mutated birds which are controlled by a dangerous alien species known as the Vortaak, are wreaking havoc on the city of Florida. The team quickly assembles to try and stop the birds, but they soon discover that they are no match for them on their own.
As they spend more time trying to figure out how to defeat the Vortaak, the team soon realizes that they need Godzilla's help. Dr. Tatopoulos agrees to try and convince Godzilla to help them, but it seems futile as Godzilla remains stubborn and uncooperative.
Meanwhile, Randy discovers that his childhood crush, Elsie, is now living in Florida. He quickly realizes that he still has feelings for her and tries to work up the courage to tell her how he feels. However, before he can do so, they stumble upon an injured bird that they decide to take back to the lab to examine.
Upon examining the bird, they discover that its mutation was caused by an alien source. They soon figure out that the Vortaak are controlling the birds and attempt to devise a plan to free them from their control. But their initial attempt fails and they are only able to free a few of the birds.
As the team regroups, they learn that the Vortaak have created a giant bird known as the Roc. The Roc is a massive bird that is unlike any other creature that the team has ever faced. With its giant size and incredible strength, the Roc poses a significant threat to the city of Florida.
With no other options left, the team decides to release the birds they have freed to fight the Roc and take down the Vortaak. But as the battle ensues, it seems that even the combined strength of the birds is not enough to defeat the Roc.
Just when it seems that all hope is lost, Godzilla finally agrees to join the fight. As he makes his way to face the Roc, he begins to morph into a new, stronger form. In this new form, Godzilla is faster, stronger, and more powerful than ever before.
With Godzilla's help, the team is finally able to defeat the Roc and take down the Vortaak. In the end, Randy finally musters up the courage to tell Elsie how he feels, but it's revealed that she has already moved on and is now dating another guy.
Overall, Bird of Paradise is a thrilling episode filled with action-packed battles and emotional moments. It highlights the importance of working together as a team and never giving up, even when things seem impossible.
