God's Quiz 2 is a South Korean medical mystery drama that premiered in 2011 on OCN. The second season of the critically acclaimed show is directed by Lee Jung-pyo and features six episodes that explore the world of forensic medicine and crime solving. The story revolves around the prodigy surgeon Han Jin-woo (played by Ryu Deok-hwan) who works at Hankook University Medical Center. Jin-woo has an unusual talent for solving complex medical problems, and his skills come in handy when unsolvable cases arise. Together with his team comprised of Kang Kyung-hee (played by Yoon Joo-hee), Jang Gyu-tae (played by Park Joon-myeon), and Jo Young-shil (played by Kim Jae-won), Jin-woo solves perplexing cases that often involve homicides or organ trafficking.
While season one focused on the alluring cases that Jin-woo and his team solved, season two delves deeper into their personal lives. The death of a colleague and Jin-woo's obsession with the past that led to the tragedy create tension within the team. Kang Kyung-hee's relationship with a former lover, Dr. Hyun Sang-pil (played by Choi Jung-woo), and Jang Gyu-tae's struggle to find the courage to propose to his longterm girlfriend (played by Jo Ahn) add an element of romance to the plot.
The season begins with the team being tasked to investigate a murder that took place in a research lab. They soon realize that the victim's body contained a rare bacteria that could potentially be used as a biologic weapon. The case takes an unusual turn after they discover that the bacteria is genetically engineered and designed to target specific ethnic groups. As they race against time to prevent a catastrophe, Jin-woo is forced to confront his past.
The second episode focuses on the organ transplantation industry and the unethical practices that go hand-in-hand with it. When a young woman checks into the hospital for a simple surgery, she never comes out. Instead, her organs are sold on the black market, and her family is left to grieve. The team's investigation leads them on a rollercoaster ride that exposes the dirty secrets of the organ transplantation system.
The third episode takes a more personal turn as a friend of Jo Young-shil is suspected of murdering his wife. The team works tirelessly to prove his innocence, but as they delve deeper into the case, they discover that the motive goes beyond a simple domestic dispute.
In the fourth episode, the team investigates the strange case of a patient who claims to have lost her soul. As Jin-woo and his team begin to investigate the case, they face their toughest challenge, as they discover that science cannot explain everything.
The fifth episode revolves around a young boy with a rare genetic disease that causes him to produce too much adrenaline, resulting in uncontrollable anger issues. The boy's anger ultimately leads to the death of his mother, and the team must find a way to exonerate him.
The final episode brings the season to an emotional conclusion as Jin-woo is haunted by his past and must come to terms with his mistakes. Meanwhile, the team rallies together to solve a case involving a rare disease that has infected multiple people, including the young daughter of one of their own.
God's Quiz 2 is a captivating and thought-provoking drama that combines science, medicine, and crime-solving in a way that will leave the audience wanting more. With a talented cast and excellent writing, the show offers a fresh perspective on the traditional medical drama genre.
