God, the Devil and Bob season 1 episode 4, titled "The Devil's Birthday," focuses on the Devil's birthday celebration. The episode shows God inviting Bob to the Devil's birthday party, which takes place in Hell. Bob hesitates to go but God convinces him to attend by telling him that it is an excellent opportunity to persuade the Devil to return to his heavenly duties.
The episode begins with the Devil preparing for his birthday celebration. He is excited as he believes that he will receive a special gift from God, as God always gives him a gift on his birthday. However, as he waits for God to show up, he becomes disappointed and angry when he realizes that God has not given him a gift. The Devil becomes agitated and starts wreaking havoc in Hell, causing chaos, and destroying everything in his path.
Meanwhile, God appears to Bob and convinces him to attend the Devil's birthday party. God tells Bob that the Devil holds a grudge against him, and he needs to make things right to prevent further chaos. Bob agrees to go with God and arrives at the party in Hell, where he is welcomed by the Devil's minions. However, the Devil shows his displeasure about God's absence of a gift towards him, and Bob volunteers to give the Devil a birthday present.
Bob's gift to the Devil is a poem that he has written, and the Devil is touched by Bob's thoughtfulness. The Devil becomes emotionally overwhelmed and starts crying, which surprises everyone, especially Bob. The Devil then thanks Bob and tells him that he has never received such a gift before in his life.
The party then continues, and God tries to convince the Devil to return to his duties in Heaven, but the Devil refuses. This leads to an argument between them, and the Devil once again loses his temper and storms out of the party.
The next day, Bob is visited by the Devil in his dreams, where he thanks him for the gift and tells him that the poem he wrote was precisely what he needed to hear. The Devil then tells Bob that he has decided to return to his duties in Heaven and that he has made peace with God.
The episode ends with the Devil returning to his duties in Heaven, and things go back to normal in Hell. Bob feels pleased that his gift made a difference and, in turn, contributed to bringing peace to Heaven and Hell.
