In episode 4 of GLOW season 1, titled The Dusty Spur, the ladies of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling finally get their first real audience. A bar in Los Angeles has agreed to let them perform a live show, albeit for a small crowd. The women are optimistic about this opportunity and excited to show their skills to a new audience.
However, things don't go quite as planned. When the women arrive at the bar, they find that the venue doesn't quite match their idea of what a wrestling show should look like. It's dark, dingy, and filled with a rowdy audience that doesn't seem to take them seriously. The women quickly realize that they're going to have to work hard to win over this crowd.
Meanwhile, Ruth is still struggling with her role as the heel. She's having a hard time getting into character and doesn't quite understand what her motivation should be. Debbie tries to help her out by explaining the role of the heel in wrestling, but it still doesn't quite click for Ruth. She's afraid that she'll ruin the show for everyone if she can't get her performance right.
As the show begins, the women are determined to put on a good performance. They start off with some basic moves, hoping to warm up the crowd. Things seem to be going well at first, but as the night wears on, the audience starts to lose interest. They start yelling at the women to take off their clothes and mocking their wrestling moves.
The women are disheartened by the audience's reaction, but they refuse to give up. They keep performing, despite the hecklers. Ruth, in particular, is determined to win over the crowd. She decides to take a risk and incorporate some physical comedy into her heel character. To everyone's surprise, it works. The audience starts to laugh and cheer along with her.
The other women are impressed by Ruth's performance and start to incorporate more humor into their routines as well. Slowly but surely, they start to win over the crowd. By the end of the night, the women are exhausted but also elated. They've proven to themselves that they have what it takes to be successful in the world of wrestling.
Overall, episode 4 of GLOW season 1 is an exciting and entertaining episode. It's great to see the women finally get the chance to perform in front of a real audience, and it's satisfying to see them rise to the challenge and win over a tough crowd. Ruth's character development is particularly interesting to watch, and it's clear that she's starting to find her footing in the show.
