Glenn Martin, DDS is a stop-motion animated television series that premiered on Nick at Nite on August 17, 2009. The show follows the life of the titular character, Glenn Martin, who, after realizing that he has become too caught up in his job, sets off on a family road trip across the country in their new RV.
In season 1 episode 1, which is titled "Save the Tooth", the Martin family is on their way to their first stop on their road trip, an amusement park in Florida. However, on the way there, they encounter a hitchhiker who appears to be in distress. It turns out that he is actually a dentist, Dr. Jim Jackson, and he is on his way to a dental conference in Atlanta.
Glenn, who is also a dentist, offers to give Dr. Jackson a lift, but as they continue on their journey, Glenn realizes that his RV is not equipped with the tools he needs to properly address a dental emergency. However, when they arrive at the amusement park, they meet a young boy in need of urgent dental care.
Despite not having the necessary tools, Glenn refuses to leave the boy's tooth untreated and enlists the help of his wife Jackie to improvise a makeshift dental toolkit. As they begin the procedure, chaos ensues as the boy's mother accidentally spills a cup of coffee onto Glenn's lap, causing him to fall into the boy's mouth.
Now lodged in the boy's mouth, Glenn must navigate through the maze of teeth and dental paraphernalia to find his way back out. Meanwhile, Dr. Jackson, who has been impressed with Glenn's improvised dental work, offers him a job as his assistant at the conference.
As the episode comes to a close, the Martin family continues on their road trip, with Glenn excited about the prospect of a new career as a dental assistant.
Overall, "Save the Tooth" is a fun and lighthearted episode that sets the tone for the rest of the series. It introduces us to the dynamic between the Martin family and their adventures on the road, while also highlighting Glenn's passion for dentistry.
