The final episode of the hit TV series Glee, season 6 episode 13 is titled Dreams Come True. This episode brings the incredible six-season journey of the New Direction glee club to an emotional closure.
The episode starts with the Dalton Academy Warblers and the New Directions performing an epic mashup of "I Lived" and "It's My Life," respectively. As graduation is fast approaching, the alumni members return to McKinley High to help Mr. Schuester prepare the new batch of Glee club members for the National Championships.
Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) prepares for her big audition in front of one of the most famous TV series creators, by performing "Uninvited." Meanwhile, Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) reveals her new career path as the newest Vice President of United States. Later on, we see every New Direction member's journey post-college, including Artie (Kevin McHale) teaching, Will (Matthew Morrison) officially being made the principal of McKinley High, and Blaine (Darren Criss) opening up a performing arts school.
In this episode, we also see the return of the coach for Vocal Adrenaline, Shelby Corcoran (Idina Menzel), who helps Quinn (Dianna Agron) get into her dream school, Yale. She also performs "Somewhere" with Rachel which will definitely give you goosebumps.
This episode is full of touching and emotional moments as we see the original cast reflecting on their time at McKinley High. We see some of the characters return to their performing roots, and others branching off to other aspirations. There are several callbacks to previous episodes of the show, especially towards the first couple seasons.
Even though the New Directions aren't present as one cohesive group for the majority of the episode, the way their lives have intertwined throughout the series brings a new level of closure when they do reunite. The group perform together for one last time on the stage where it all started, singing the song "I Lived" by One Republic.
Overall, the final episode of Glee season 6, Dreams Come True, is an unforgettable and emotional goodbye to a beloved TV series. The way the writers wrap up each character's journey is done with care and respect to their respective developments throughout the show. It’s sure to be a satisfying ending for fans of the series.
